Refers to the period from about 3000 to 500 BCE in the area of modern Bahrain, Failaka Island, and the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia. The art of the period is characterized by varying cultural influences over time resulting from contact with Mesopotamia to the west and the Indus Valley to the east.
