<skos:note xml:lang="en">Refers to the style and period surrounding the culture that flourished in the Cambodian kingdom of Lan Xang (1353-1707 CE). The style of this period is based on indigenous innovations and Khmer and Thai influences. In religious architecture, the style is evidenced in the Vat Visum (1503 CE) and in the Vat Xieng Thong (1561 CE), featuring grandiose stupas or reliquary monuments, tiled, sloping, overlapped roofs, eaves supported by corbels or by gilded or lacquered consoles, and wood construction. Secular buildings are constructed in wood also and feature gilded low reliefs. In this period, the sanctuary and meeting house structure housing holy images developed and expanded. Sculpture in this style is overwhelmingly Buddhist in theme and iconography, though some Hindu sculptures exist, and features figures in bronze, stone, precious metals, dry lacquer, and terracotta.</skos:note>

El estilo de este período se basa en las innovaciones indígenas e influencias Khmer y tailandesas. En arquitectura religiosa, el estilo se manifiesta en el Vat Visum (1503 d.C.) y en el Vat Xieng Thong (1561 d.C.), ofreciendo stupas grandiosos o monumentos relicarios, tejados superpuestos, cubiertos de azulejos e inclinados, aleros sostenidos por vigas o por consolas doradas o barnizadas y construcción de madera. También se construyen edificios seculares en madera y presenta bajo relieves dorados. En este período, el santuario y la asamblea alojan imágenes santas evolucionadas y aumentadas. La escultura en este estilo es abrumadoramente budista en tema e iconografía, aunque existen algunas esculturas hindúes y presenta figuras en bronce, piedra, metales preciosos, laca seca, y terracota.</skos:note>
<skos:note xml:lang="nl">Verwijst naar de stijl en periode rondom de cultuur die een bloeitijd beleefde in het Cambodjaanse koninkrijk Lan Xang (1353-1707 n. Chr.). De stijl van deze periode is gebaseerd op inheemse innovaties en Thaise en Khmer-invloeden. In de religieuze architectuur is de stijl terug te zien in de Vat Visum (1503 n. Chr.) en de Vat Xieng Thong (1561 n. Chr.), met grootse stoepa's of monumenten, schuine, overlappende daken met dakpannen, dakranden die worden ondersteund door kraagstenen of door vergulde of gelakte consoles en houtconstructies. Seculiere bouwwerken zijn gebouwd van hout en zijn ook voorzien van vergulde bas-reliëfs. In deze periode kwam het tot de ontwikkeling en uitbreiding van een structuur met een heiligdom en ontmoetingsplaats, waar heilige beelden werden ondergebracht. In de beeldhouwkunst in deze stijl staan boeddhistische thema's en iconografie centraal, hoewel er ook wel enige hindoeïstische beeldhouwwerken zijn. Typerend zijn figuren in brons, steen, edelmetaal, droog lakwerk en terracotta.</skos:note>
