Refers to a style named after the town in the southern region of modern Myanmar, situated on the Tenasserim plains, an early Mon capital designated as the epicenter of Indian culture until the 11th century. The style features prominent Mon sculpture, Brahmanic stone stelae, and stone bas-reliefs of the deities Vishnu, Ananta, Brahma, and Shiva in various meditative positions.
