Refers to the works of the pupils of Ukiyo-e artist Moronobu (d. 1694), son of the famous brocade artist Hishigawa Kichizaemon. The style is characterized by the continuation of Moronobu's controlled, powerful brushstrokes and solid, dynamic figures.
