Descripción
Refers to the work of a group of artists working in the conservative style of the Ch'ing dynasty. Epitomized by the Four Wangs: Wang Shi-min (1592-1680), Wang Chien (1598-1677), Wang Hui (1632-1717) and Wang Yuan-ch'i (1642-1715), the style is characterized by landscape paintings with traditional compostions, solidly built up forms with complex details, and delicate brushwork.
