Refers to the culture of the Passamaquoddy, Algonkian-speaking Indians who lived on Passamaquoddy Bay, the St. Croix River, and Schoodic Lake on the boundary between what are now Maine and New Brunswick. The Passamaquoddy tribe belonged to the loose confederation of eastern American Indians known as the Wabanaki Alliance, together with the Maliseet, Micmac, Abnaki, and Penobscot.
