Culture and style of an Eastern Algonquian Native American tribe that inhabited in the Hudson River Valley and New England prior to the 17th century. Due to the American Revolutionary War, many Mahican migrated westward to join the Iroquois Oneida in central New York. Many Mahican descendants were later moved to Wisconsin.
