Descripción
Encompasses the period in Mesoamerica from around CE 900 to CE 1521 characterized by the political unification of Mesoamerica, through the promotion of the Toltec state and later the Aztec empire, and the decline of the large Maya states of the Early Postclassic period. The period is subdivided into two subperiods: Early Postclassic and Late Postclassic.
