Literature (writings)

The body of writings of a nation, region, period, or language, of a particular form or genre, on a particular subject, or for a particular audience. For the written works produced by an individual or specific group of individuals, use "writings". For that category of the humanities dealing with written or oral verbal literary works, use "literature (humanities)."
