Descripción
Hooded cloaks, usually sleeveless, typically worn by Christian monks. The term originally applied to outer garments worn by both men and women in Europe, but around 530 CE became the outerwear prescribed by St. Benedict for the monks of his order, hence their primary association with monks. The term is also sometimes used for the hoods alone.
