Descripción

Short, pleated, wraparound garments usually of tartan, developed in the mid-18th century in the Highlands of Scotland as a simplified version of a full plaid. Later adopted by the Highland regiments of the British army as an item of uniform. Worn by men and boys in Scotland as part of the national dress. Also, similar plaid skirts worn by women and girls.
