Descripción
Voluminous, circular, purple or red cloak, having a large hood attached and with a hole for the head, worn by higher prelates, bishops and cardinals. In view of its size the cappa magna at the back trailed on the ground, and the front had to be partly draped over one arm to allow free movement of the feet. This very full form did not develop until the 14th century.
