Descripción

Specifically, the ceremonial tea bowl used in the Japanese tea ceremony. They are small vessels without handles characterized by an aesthetic of irregularity, or imperfection. Traditionally they are of earthenware and glazed in muted tones. To refer to other vessels of similar form and for consuming tea, but outside the context of the Japanese tea ceremony: including bowls of European manufacture in the 18th century, some with saucers, use "tea bowls."
