Descripción
Spike fiddles of the Near East, originating in Iran, with a spherical body, a circular belly of animal membrane or fish skin on which the bridge rests, and from one to four strings, traditionally of silk, though in modern times usually of metal. The instruments are held vertically and turned to present the strings to the bow during performance. Spike fiddle of Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
