The body consists of a long, narrow piece of wood or aluminum plate, the top of which serves as a fingerboard for the strings, and a flexible membrane to which a metal bell like that of an aerophone is attached, mounted at one side of the bridge; concert models occasionally have two bells.</skos:note>
