Descripción

Bedcovers consisting of three layers (top, backing, and filling) joined by quilting, which is stitching that typically forms decorative patterns or designs. The term is also used loosely to refer to similar bedcovers joined by other means. Quilts are distinguished from "comforters," which are warmer, heavily wadded bedcovers on which the design of the stitching is not as elaborate or decorative. In addition to serving as bedcovers, quilts may also be used as wall hangings or for another purpose.
