Descripción
Spanish fall-front writing cabinets, taking the form of a rectangular chest supported on a decorative pie de puente or trestle stand. The interior is often elaborately decorated and generally contains tiers of drawers which may be supplemented with pigeonholes and a small cupboard. The name is a late 19th-century name that erroneously suggests that this type of writing cabinet was made in the Toledan village of Vargas.
