Descripción
Temperate forests of differing vegetation types as influenced by variations in topography, soil, and exposure to wind, sun, and fire. Woody vegetation in the mediterranean forest is usually sclerophyll, having small, dark leaves covered with a waxy outer layer to retain moisture. Mediterranean forests are located where precipitation is less than 100 cm per year, concentrated in the winter season.
