Descripción

The strongest and securist parts of Japanese castles, these tower-like structures were constructed both within other buildings and free-standing and were sometimes located within an inner compound called a "honmaru". They could exist alone or connected to other structures of the same type. For these types of fortification structures in western European castles, use "keeps".
