Descripción
Architectural motif characteristic of Renaissance and later classicizing styles, consisting of a large central opening under a semicircular arch flanked by two smaller rectangular openings. Illustrated in Serlio's 'Architettura' (1537), and considered a characteristic element of Palladian architecture.
