Descripción
Two-storied main gates of a Zen temple complexes; literally "enlightenment gate," "mountain gate," or "triple gate." The size of the gate could be equated with the status of the temple. These gates can contain three passages and are seen also as symbolic barriers between the profane and the sacred.
