Descripción
Sheet metal seams used primarily with light material, distinguished by an offset along the side of the seam. To make a grooved seam, the edges of both pieces are turned and hooked together; a grooving machine or other roller is run over the seam, creating an offset in the upper sheet, securing it so the seam does not come apart. Examples of uses for this seam are for joining two flat sheets, making longitudinal seams in round pipes, and vertical seams in articles having a flaring or cylindrical surface.
