Perches (object genres)

Poles, rods, sticks, or stakes placed in a horizontal position and used for any of various purposes, typically as a prop or support. Examples include bars provided as resting places for birds, rods supporting the body of a cart, bars on which to hang clothes or other things, and bars over which pieces of cloth or leather are secured for working.
