Objects that are specifically designed to be heavy in order to hold down or provide resistance. Examples include round disks designed to be used in lifting to improve physical strength, paperweights, sinkers used for fishing, and pieces of metal or ceramic sewn into a costume or drapery to weigh down a hem or sash.
