Viscous, clear to pale yellow non-volatile fatty oil obtained from the seeds of Ricinus communis or Palma Christi of the spurge family, having a nauseating taste. Used in medicine as a purgative, and also in the production of synthetic resins, plastics, fibres, paints, varnishes, drying oils, and plasticizers.
