Descripción
A white marble variegated with green and gray due to layers of mica and mica-like minerals. It originates from the island of Euboea in the Aegean Sea and bears a resemblance to the cross section of an onion, hence its name, which derives from the Italian word for onion (cipolla). The term is now often applied to any crystalline white marble with greenish mica, particularly the schistose varieties.
