Descripción

A large and varied class of crystalline metal aluminosilicate minerals containing loosely held water molecules. They are often found in the cavities of igneous rocks. Specialized zeolite matrices can be prepared by varying heat and pressure to aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide. Zeolites have numerous technical applications; e.g., as ion exhange resins, absorbents, or molecular sieves.
