Descripción

Wood of any of several varieties of the species Fraxinus excelsior. The wood is whitish to pale brown in color with a pink cast. It is a dense wood that is tough and elastic with a straight grain and slightly coarse texture. It is moderately durable but susceptible to insect attack. The timber is used for ladders, tool handles, oars, poles, wheels, boats, weapons, furniture, gymnasium equipment, tennis racquets, and hockey sticks.
