Descripción
A colorless liquid solvent compound of five isomers in the form of a volatile liquid with the smell and taste of bananas. Introduced in 1888 as a solvent for cellulose nitrate and later used for cellulose acetate. Applications include dyeing and finishing textiles, floor coverings, as flavoring, in polishes, varnishes, and metallic paints.
