Descripción

A thick, paste-like mixture of powdered calcium carbonate and linseed oil, used to fill holes and cracks in wood or metal, to secure and seal panes of glass in window frames, and other applications to create an air and water tight seal. Some putties also contain lead white or red lead, which accelerate the drying of the linseed oil. In the second half of the 20th century, many new types of sealants and glazing compounds became available and oil based putty is generally no longer in use.
