Descripción

Synthetically prepared black iron oxide pigment that is permanent, having a warm brownish black color, existing as a dense, heavy powder, and unlike most naturally produced black iron oxide pigments, it is magnetic. Mars black was developed in the early 20th century; it is used in oil paints, watercolors, and mortars and cements, because it does not effloresce.
