Descripción

A handwoven textile of Japan made from twisted paper thread. Shifu was manufactured from the 1600s for use in paper products such as book covers and for two sorts of cloth: a coarse fabric for work clothes; a very fine material used and sold by the Samurai. Shifu production declined with the disappearance of the Samurai class.
