Mesh

Refers to the threads or cords that surround the interstices of a net, netting, screen, or sieve. It may also refer to the material formed by the mesh, including any woven, knitted, or knotted material with an open texture and evenly spaced holes, including textiles and interlocking metal links. The term may also refer to the spaces rather than to the threads that bound the spaces; in this sense it is used to designate the size of a net or screen, indicated by the number of openings per inch or another linear unit.
